Squad Card for family

The family already backs each other. Now the credit line can too.

A parent who wants to help a 22-year-old start a file. Siblings who split a parent's medical bill. Cousins who pool for the wedding. Families have always been each other's credit; Squad Card is designed to make that visible to a bank without making anyone sign for anyone else's debt.

How families do it today
The options people use now, and where each one breaks.
  • A parent adds a child as an authorized user and hopes the issuer reports it.
  • Someone cosigns a loan and becomes fully liable for the whole thing, with no control over the spending.
  • Money moves hand to hand and none of it builds a credit history for anyone.
How Squad Card is designed to work
One shared line. A private lane per member. A reserve released by vote.
  1. 1
Everyone gets a laneUp to four family members, each with a private lane sized to their own file and income. The 22-year-old's lane is small and real; it grows as they show they can use it.
  2. 2
A family reservePart of the line is held back for the things you decide together. Drawing on it takes a vote; each approver takes a capped share, so nobody is surprised.
  3. 3
Cover each other, on purposeIf one lane is short one month, another member can cover the payment so the account stays current. It is recorded, visible, and settled inside the squad.
Squad Card vs cosigning for a family member
Side by side, as the program is designed. Final terms are published at launch.

Questions people ask

Can I add my adult child to my squad?

Yes, any adult you trust can take a seat. Each member applies as an individual within the squad and gets their own lane.

Is this a way to give someone my credit limit?

No. A member's lane reflects their own file and the group's strength. Nobody spends on another member's lane, and nobody is liable for it.

What if a family member stops paying?

Their lane is frozen and settled. The squad may lose the reserve it voted to release for them, but no member inherits another member's balance.

Is Squad Card available now?

Not yet. Squad Card is on a waitlist while we finish the program with our issuing bank partner. Joining the waitlist saves your seat, lets you form your squad, and gives you a free Experian score and report while you wait.

Does joining the waitlist affect my credit?

No. Joining takes a first name and an email. If you choose to check your free Experian score, that is a soft inquiry you initiate yourself; it never appears to lenders and does not change your score.

What does it cost?

The waitlist and the free Experian score cost nothing and require no card. Card pricing, credit lines and terms will be published when the program launches and depend on approval by the issuing bank.
