Questions people ask

How is annual pay calculated from an hourly rate?
The page multiplies your hourly rate by hours per week, adds any overtime hours at the overtime multiplier, and multiplies that weekly pay by the weeks in a year minus your unpaid weeks off.
Why do unpaid weeks off matter?
You earn nothing in those weeks, so they come off the annual figure. What the Unpaid Weeks Cost shows the gap between your pay with no unpaid time off and your actual annual pay.
Are these figures before or after tax?
Before tax. All figures on this page are gross pay; the Paycheck Calculator covers take-home pay.
What is Effective Hourly Including Overtime?
It divides your weekly pay, overtime included, by your total weekly hours. It rises above your base rate when you work overtime at a multiplier above one.
