Questions people ask
How does the page compare a transfer with staying on my card?
It runs both cases month by month at the same monthly payment. The transfer side adds the fee to the balance, charges the intro APR for the intro period and the after-intro APR from then on; the staying side charges your current APR throughout.
Is the transfer fee included in the cost?
Yes. The fee is a percentage of the balance, it joins the transferred balance on day one, and Total Cost on the transfer side adds that fee to the interest you pay.
What does Payment Needed to Clear It in the Intro Period mean?
It is the fixed monthly payment that brings the balance plus the fee to zero by the last month of the intro period at the intro APR. Pay at least that and the after-intro APR never applies.
Why does the page show n/a or a never-ending payoff?
If your monthly payment does not cover the monthly interest, the balance never falls, so the page cannot give a payoff time. Raise the payment to see a result.
