Accessibility Statement
1. Our Commitment
Financial information is not optional. A person who cannot read a rate table, cannot reach a cancel button with a keyboard, or cannot hear an alert is being shut out of something that affects their money. Banrox treats accessibility as part of whether a page works at all, not as a later pass.
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA as our standard, and we design so that the Services are usable by people who use screen readers, magnification, voice control, switch devices, keyboard only navigation, and reduced motion settings.
2. What We Do
- Semantic structure with real headings, landmarks, lists and tables, so a screen reader can navigate the page rather than read it as a wall
- Every interactive element reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator
- Text contrast checked against the 4.5 to 1 ratio for body text and 3 to 1 for large text and interface components
- Meaning never carried by colour alone. A red figure also carries a word or a symbol
- Text alternatives for images that carry information, and empty alternatives for images that are decoration
- Form fields with real labels, errors announced in text, and error messages that say what to do rather than only what is wrong
- Full respect for the reduced motion setting in your operating system. When it is on, animation stops
- Touch targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels, and no action that depends on a gesture with no simple alternative
- Layouts that reflow to 320 pixels wide and tolerate 200 percent text zoom without loss of content
- No time limit on completing a form that cannot be extended
- Data tables with headers associated to cells, so a rate comparison can be read cell by cell
3. Where We Know We Fall Short
An honest statement is more useful than a claim of full conformance. Banrox has not completed an independent third party accessibility audit, and we do not claim full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance across every page. Areas we know need work include some complex comparison tables, some charts, and content supplied by third parties such as embedded provider widgets, which we do not control. We are working through them and we will update this section as each is resolved rather than quietly leave it.
Third party content, including provider pages you reach by clicking through, is outside our control. If a provider's page is inaccessible, tell us and we will raise it with them and tell you what they said.
4. If a Page Blocks You, We Will Do It With You
You should not have to fight a page to manage your money. If any part of Banrox is not usable for you, contact us and we will complete the task with you by phone or email at no cost, including reading a comparison, cancelling a plan, submitting a privacy request, or filing a complaint.
- Email [email protected]
- Call (888) 888-6401
- Write to Banrox Inc., Attn: Accessibility, 40 N Altadena Dr, Ste 105, Pasadena, CA 91107
Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology and browser you use if you know them. We acknowledge within 3 business days, give you a workaround or a human who will do it with you, and tell you when the underlying fix is scheduled.
5. Alternative Formats
Any document on this site is available in large print, plain text, or as an accessible PDF on request, free of charge, at [email protected]. We will also read a document to you over the phone.
6. Standards and Law
We work to WCAG 2.2 AA, and we take account of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act as a design reference, and the California Unruh Civil Rights Act. Meeting a technical standard is not the same as a page being usable, so the test we actually apply is whether a person using assistive technology can finish the task.
7. Feedback Changes What We Build
Reports from members set the order in which we fix things. If you tell us a specific control is unusable, that goes to the top of the list ahead of a theoretical issue found by a scanner. We would rather hear an uncomfortable report than have you leave quietly.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice at ada.gov, or your state attorney general. Full contact details are at Complaints, Disputes and Regulator Contacts.
